Steven Boyd Menack is the Founder and a Past President of the statewide New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators (NJAPM), as well as a Founding Member and Advanced Mediator within the national Academy of Professional Family Mediators. Involved in the field of divorce mediation since 1983, Mr. Menack, whose background is in law, psychology, financial and tax concerns, has trained numerous attorneys, mental health practitioners, financial planners and accountants in the professional practice of divorce mediation through the Rutgers University Division of Summer and Continuing Education in the middle 1990s and as a guest lecturer and moderator for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (ICLE). Having performed countless mediations over the past quarter century of professional practice, Mr. Menack is a renowned practitioner, presenter and promoter of mediation both within and outside of New Jersey. He has been recognized by Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the World. Mr. Menack has contributed extensively to various legal and other professional publications since the middle 1990s, has been quoted in the printed press on the topic of divorce mediation and has appeared as a guest speaker to promote the alternative of mediation on various national and regional live and taped television shows and radio programs. Nationally recognized as an accomplished advocate and proponent for the professional practice of mediation, Mr. Menack also is the recipient of a Distinguished Service Award from the NJAPM for his leadership as Founding President of the Association and for his tireless service in the field of mediation, as well as the recipient of an Award for Outstanding Service to the Bar of the State of New Jersey by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education. In 2013, Mr. Menack was selected to serve as Chair of the Certification Committee of the nationally acclaimed Academy of Professional Family Mediators, in which capacity he spearheaded the process for developing and promulgating standards for a national professional Certification in divorce and family mediation. In 2014, Mr. Menack was unanimously selected by his peers as Vice President of the nationally renowned Professional Mediation Board of Standards, as well as Chair of the Professional Development Committee of that national Board, to lead the field in developing and administering a national examination in divorce and family mediation that will result in the implementation and establishment of a national professional Certification in divorce and family mediation for professional divorce and family mediators throughout the United States. Most recently, in 2015, Mr. Menack was nominated and elected by his peers to sit on the Board of Directors of the highly acclaimed Academy of Professional Family Mediators, the national academy of which Mr. Menack likewise is an Advanced Mediator and founding member. He continues to hold those nationally recognized distinctions to this day. Mr. Menack is the principal of A Better Solution ? Quality Mediation, Arbitration & Dispute Resolution Services, Inc. and A Bright Idea Divorce, Separation, Business and Family Mediation Services, with offices throughout New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Mr. Menack additionally is the principal of a divorce and family law practice with offices in both New Jersey and New York. A graduate of Columbia University School of Law (1984-1987), Mr. Menack also holds an undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Arizona (1978-1982), and a Master in Public Administration degree from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government (1982-1984). Mr. Menack's advanced degree from Harvard specifically included course work on successful techniques for helping couples in divorce and family mediation, when the field of divorce mediation was in its infancy.
