She is a Divorce Mediator who also specializes in family matters and high conflict mediation. She has her JD from Rutgers Law School, Newark and is a member of the NJ Bar. Her practice is confined solely to mediation and arbitration. She is on the Approved Roster of Somerset County as a Custodial Mediator for Vicinage XIII. She is also a mentor on the New Jersey AOC Economic Mediation Roster for Morris, Somerset, and Hunterdon Counties.

Katherine Newcomer currently serves as the chair of the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators (NJAPM) Peer Mediation State Wide Group and is the chair of the NJAPM Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren County Peer Group. She served on NJAPM Board as a Director from 2008 to 2013. She was the chairperson for the 2015 to 2018 NJAPM Annual Divorce Seminars and co-chair for the NJAPM Annual Civil and Divorce Seminar in 2019. Additionally, she was the co-chair on the 2015 and 2016 NJAPM Annual Conferences. She served on the Board of Safe Harbor Access Centers from 2007 to 2015. She developed and implemented the initial NJAPM webinar program. She has served as a Role Play Coach for NJAPM’s 40-Hour Divorce Training since the fall of 2015.

Her experience in Dispute Resolution and Arbitration is extensive. She has decided well over three hundred and fifty cases for NetNeutrals through DeMars and Associates, including NetNeutrals, EU. She conducts hearings and writes decisions for CAP Motors for Porsche Motors North America and Ford Motor Company as a part of the DPS6 Class Action Settlement as well as for CAP Homes.

She has office space available in Morristown, Bedminster, Bridgewater, Parsippany, Short Hills, and Basking Ridge. Skype or FaceTime sessions are possible on a limited basis.

She graduated cum laude from Drew University, Madison, New Jersey and her senior year abroad at Oxford University, U.K. She graduated from Rutgers – The State University, School of Law, Newark, with a J.D (1978) and was admitted to the NJ Bar in the fall.

She published a chapter in Online Dispute Resolution: An international Business Approach to Solving Consumer Complaints in 2015 and a novel, The Phoenix and Falcon.
