I. Jay Safier, CPA, CGMA, CFF  is a Reg 1:40 qualified mediator on the New Jersey Superior Court's Roster of Mediators for Civil, General Equity and Probate Cases.  He has 50 years of professional experience providing accounting, auditing, tax, estate and business consulting services to a diverse group of closely-held businesses, high net-worth individuals and nonprofit organizations. He has also been involved in matters covering representation of clients before taxing authorities, shareholder disputes, forensic investigations and has been called upon as an expert witness. In addition to being a licensed CPA, Mr. Safier holds the designations of Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and is a retired Fellow of the American Board of Forensic Accounting for the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute (FABFA). He is a former adjunct instructor of Accounting at Pace University in Westchester, New York. He is also a former member of the New Jersey chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth and the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ), where is was a trustee of PENPAC, the political action arm of CIANJ.
Mr. Safier received his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting from The School of Commerce (now The Stern School of Business) at New York University and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Taxation from The Bernard M. Baruch College. He is a member of the AICPA and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) where he has been an active member of various committees in both professional organizations. He has lectured on various accounting and tax topics as a faculty member of the Foundation for Accounting Education, the educational division of the NYSSCPA. Mr. Safier has been published on income tax and estate tax matters in various publications including The CPA Journal, the monthly publication of NYSSCPA, Estate Planning and Investment Advisor, and interviewed and quoted in The New York Times, The Daily News, and The New York Post. He has also been interviewed on radio and television by reporters seeking his opinion on various tax matters and procedures. He is also a member of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Safier is licensed in New York and Connecticut. He is a former member of the board of directors of Crystal Run Village, Inc., a nonprofit organization that owns and operates group homes for the developmentally disabled in Rockland, Orange and Sullivan counties of New York.
