New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators (NJAPM) is pleased to notify you of our 27th Annual Conference, Mediation 2020: New Decade/(Really) New Perspectives, scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2020 


 Welcome by this year's chairs, Gabrielle Strich, NJAPM President, Carl Peters, will provide an organizational update.   Also in the morning plenary session, two leading experts will conduct interactive presentations:

  • Speaker TBA will provide perspectives on managing change; what we have learned about ourselves from COVID-19. 

We will have two sessions of breakout afternoon.  Civil mediation workshops will be introduced by Felicia Farber, and divorce mediation workshops will be introduced by Lynn Norcia.

First Set of Workshops: Choose Civil or Divorce Track

  • Civil Workshop - Managing your 1:40 Civil Case more effectively from initial referral to getting paid: Felicia Farber, Andrew Smith and Michele Cresti


  • Divorce Hot Topics, Part 1 (25 Min. Presentations + 5 Q&A for each topic):  The new NJ court program on Economic Mediation for domestic violence cases, and a review of DV rules for private cases in your mediation practice: Judge Lawrence Jones and Christine Heer, and Legal Weed, family law and mediation: Pamela Copeland

Second Set of Workshops: Choose Civil or Divorce Track

  • Civil Workshop: Minkowitz v Israeli (2013), mediation/arbitration rules, the new NJ arbitration law, and practice opportunities/implications: Gabrielle Strich


  • Divorce Hot Topics, Part 2 (25 Minute Presentations + 5 Minutes Q&A for each topic):  Relocation issues in mediation including intrastate moves (AJ v RJ 2019): Lynn Norcia, and the Top 5 financial errors in divorce mediation: Amber Leach

The seminar will close with a plenary ethics presentation with Robert Lenrow and TBA panelists on When should a mediated agreement be binding: Reconciling the Standards of Conduct for Mediators, Willingboro, and reality.
