2nd Online Mock Divorce Mediation Programs October 19, noon to 1pm

October 19 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

This is to announce the second of a series of online mock divorce mediation programs that will be held on October 19 th  from noon to 1 p.m.

This is how the divorce mock mediation will work.  Each mock mediation will have a mediator and a couple.  For October 19th Adam Berner will be the mediator. Gary Borger and Jody Davis will be the couple.  Gary and Jody will prepare a fact pattern that will not be shared with Adam or the attendees.  Gary and Jody will also coordinate how they will play each part.  The mediation should last about 20 minutes.

How you participate. During the roleplay, there will be no questions from the attendees.  At the end of the role play, attendees can ask questions, e.g., why did the mediator take this or that approach.  If an attendee wants to try mediating with the couple to demonstrate a different approach, that can be done too with both audio and video. (While the mock mediation is being held in a Zoom webinar format where attendees cannot be seen, I can make an attendee into a panelist with full audio and video capability).

Adam Berner is a practitioner and trainer in mediation and collaborative law, and owner of the Berner Law & Mediation Group, with offices in Midtown Manhattan and Hackensack, New Jersey. With over 25 years in the matrimonial ADR field, he has served as the President of the Family & Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York, Founding President of the Collaborative Divorce Association of North Jersey, and is a founding member of both the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals and the New Jersey Council of Collaborative Practice Groups.

Jody Davis, MA, DCSW, LMFT is a licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.  Trained and certified by Ackerman Institute for the Family, her skills helping couples through all stages of the life cycle, lends itself to a deeper understanding of the impact of divorce on all members of the family system. She has been helping individuals, couples, and families for 35 years.  Her private practice is in Monmouth County New Jersey and she is seeing clients virtually at this time.

Gary Borger has engaged in the private practice of law for the last 43 years in Cherry Hill, New Jersey (presently as a shareholder with BorgerMatez, P.A.). His practice concentrates on negotiation, mediation and litigation of family law disputes. His practice involves divorce, custody, parenting time, child relocation, alimony, child support, domestic violence, equitable distribution of marital property and debt, and all other aspects of the myriad legal problems associated with separation and divorce and associated tort claims, and includes drafting and negotiation of cohabitation, premarital and marital settlement agreements.
